Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At Pembroke Dental, we use technology to help with treatment planning and ease your dental appointment experience. Since we are able to project digital X-rays and scans on our treatment room monitors, we can show you any problems you may have in your mouth and explain your treatment plan step by step.
It is our goal to provide you with dental care and ensure you are fully informed about your oral health. Dental technology helps us achieve this.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors rather than traditional photographic X-ray film. They can capture very detailed computer images of your gums and teeth, as well as other oral conditions and structures. This allows your dentist to evaluate parts of your mouth that are invisible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays let your dentist take a single image of your whole mouth. This image is a flat representation of your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and sinus and nasal structures. Dentists often use panoramic X-rays to help plan treatments for extractions, dentures, implants, and braces.
Dental Lasers
Dental lasers (highly focused light beams) could be used in various hard and soft tissue procedures. They help our dentists conduct dental procedures with fewer medical interventions and less pain. At Pembroke Dental, our dentists use lasers to whiten teeth, remove overgrown or decayed tissue, reshape the gums, and harden dental restorations.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions, which is an alternative to traditional dental impressions that could be time-consuming and messy. All your dentist has to do is use an optical scanning wand to capture a digital image of your teeth in just minutes. This lets your dentist obtain data to make digital replicas of your mouth's hard and soft tissues.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that assists your dentist in identifying diseases and abnormalities in your mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. With fluorescence visualization technology, it can be completed in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in approximately two minutes.
CEREC Same-Day Restorations
CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system that permits the placement and fabrication of ceramic dental crowns, inlays, and onlays in just one appointment.
